UConn Harries
Engaged with Harry Styles Fans at UConn through Social Media Posts and an Album Listening Event for 'Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally'
★ Recap of the Harry Styles album listening event:
New album releases always build excitement among fans, especially for artists who haven’t released music in years! Anticipation has been high for Harry Styles’ fourth album ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’ (which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart). I’m so grateful to have assisted with the creation and management of an album listening event for KATTDO for UConn students to enjoy.
As the Vice Chair of Marketing for Student Union Board of Governors (SUBOG) Concert Committee and the Vice President of UConn Harries, I was thrilled to build a collaborative event with both organizations. The planning process started early in the semester to ensure that the final event would promote fan engagement and encourage student participation.
Besides the initial planning, I managed marketing for the listening event. I created social media graphics to announce the collaboration, as well as a short-form video using a customized CD cover to build more anticipation for both the album and event. I also designed outfit inspiration content for members of UConn Harries to inspire them to dress for the theme.
The day of the event (and of the album release) was a success! Fans played trivia to win vinyl records and tote bags, and worked on crafts (like coloring and making friendship bracelets). Harry Styles even released his music video for “American Girls” during the event, so everyone got to watch it for the first time together. I even created KATTDO-inspired stickers (even though the album was released only 12 hours before the event), which students were able to take home.
